Always vote for principle...and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost. John Quincy Adams
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
1. I agree with the Libertarians on many issues but not on the issue of __________. [fill in the blank]
Do you agree with your significant other on everything? Of course not, but you respect his/her point of view. I'm willing to bet you don't agree with any party all of the time. I know I don't. But at the core, I believe in smaller more efficient government, and personal liberty.
2. If you're conservative, why didn't you run in the primary as a Republican? Because I'm a Libertarian.
I heard a lot of talk before the primaries that if I ran as a Republican, I'd probably win. To that I'd point out none of the Senate incumbents lost in the primary - zero turnover.
I stand a better chance in the general election where incumbents lose 10% of the time.
3. What will it take to win?
I need your vote and your help. Preparing for this race, we looked at how incumbents are beaten 10% of the time. What we found was those successful campaigns were able to raise some money to print literature and had lots of volunteers to distribute that literature.
Stick to the simple stuff. Change doesn't need to be sweeping to make a difference. Besides, government is a process of compromise. Attempting to ram changes down the throats of others will never work.
5. Third parties aren't helpful, they just steal votes from the major parties.
Steal them from whom? Major parties don't own the votes or have any entitlement to them. I've been getting my votes the old- fashioned way - knocking on doors, going to meetings, listening to the voters.
One voice, one vote. When was the last time you made someone earn your vote?
